Welcome to Norfolk Probation Area's website. We are one of the areas that make up the National Probation Service, a law enforcement agency which is part of the National Offender Management Service. Our work has five aims:

To protect the public

To reduce re-offending

To ensure the proper punishment of offenders in the community

To ensure that offenders are aware of the effects of crime on their victims and the public

To rehabilitate offenders

Our team of dedicated staff work to rehabilitate people who have committed offences by tackling the root causes of their offending behaviour. Our people work in the community, in courts, in prisons and with other agencies to make Norfolk safer.
